My meetings in Paris continue to delight as I am learning more and more about the many benefits of LiFi and seeing actual jobs transpire from the growing technology.
Late last week, I met one of our suppliers who has a new, dramatically lower price on their downlight. In addition with their help, LumEfficient will launch a LiFi panel light. To my knowledge, this will be the first LiFi-enabled panel light that is commercially available in the market place. In addition, we expect to offer a floor lamp that will be available in January, also a first.
There are over 100 LiFi jobs installed in France and most are omni-directional LiFi jobs. Most seem to involve the military.
There is much discussion and excitement regarding the new IEEE standard 802.11.bb and the importance of getting all companies on board. As LiFi begins to go mainstream, it is imperative to organizations to help define and promote the technology. With the IEEE standard, we are well on our way.
